Gnarboards come with 2WD or 4WD. Our multi-drive wheel system offers huge advantages over the conventional single-wheel drive system. Here are some of those advantages:

Better Acceleration:

With more drive-wheels, Gnarboards achieve much quicker acceleration. Gnarboards can transfer more power to the ground, and as a result, Gnarboards can get you moving that much quicker. Our lightning-fast acceleration would not be possible without the use of 2WD and 4WD.

Better Handling:

Weight-shifts through turns do not affect 2WD or 4WD as they do 1WD. With Gnarboards, the rider’s weight is always on a driven wheel. Handling is awesome regardless of which way you are turning, and since the 2WD and 4WD designs are symmetrical left-to-right, the skateboard behaves the same regardless of which direction you are leaning.

Better Braking:

Gnarboards use regenerative motor-braking, so drive-wheels double as “brake-wheels”. More “brake-wheels” means better braking. With 2WD and 4WD braking, the extra traction means you are much less likely to skid-out and can stop much quicker.

Longer Tire Life:

Gnarboards 2WD and 4WD skateboards have even and symmetrical tire-wear. As a result, our tires last much longer than the tires on a 1WD skateboard. With symmetrical tire-wear, handling will not be compromised with use.

No More “One Tire Fires”:

If Gnarboards were Hot Rods, they would be the ones with “posi”, or more correctly, limited-slip differentials. In fact, our 2WD and 4WD system behaves a lot like a limited-slip differential. When one wheel loses traction, power continues to be delivered to the other wheels. So when one wheel is stuck in loose sand, the other wheels will still work to keep your skateboard moving!
